Trailside Oaks is a proposed new residential rental community totaling 105 residential units and one commercial unit designed in a low-density configuration. The community will consist of 51 townhomes and 54 traditional apartments, plus one ground floor retail space, appx 1,500SF. The 8.5 acre site, on which the community will be developed, features unique natural beauty, including the north branch of Brushy Creek and numerous heritage oak trees. Trailside Oaks was named after a historic low water crossing of brushy creek where wagons and carriages once traversed. The location of the proposed community is in the rapidly growing northwest Austin suburb of Leander, Texas. More specifically, it sits strategically near the northwest corner of the intersection of TX-183A Tollway and Hero Way. At the subject site the tollway is 8 lanes wide and Hero Way is 4 lanes. The site sits adjacent to the south of Austin Community College’s new San Gabriel Campus; adjacent to the east of a new and successful apartment community, The Standard at Leander Station; and a 5-minute walk northwest to the Capital Metro Rail Station within the TOD.

Site Layout & Elevation

Located on the north side of Hero Way, the entrance to Trailside Oaks greets residents and guests with 500-year-old oaks preserved to maintain the original beauty of the site. A 54-unit apartment building sits

near the entrance off of Hero Way, while the 51 townhomes are distributed throughout the rest of the site. Pocket parks underneath the trees and along the creek’s edge dot the interconnected walking paths. They criss-cross the community, providing ample space for walks, and allowing residents access to the rest of the Leander TOD master planned trail system.
